The Birth of LaVì
LaVì was born in June 2023 from Cecilia's need to create a unique and original product for her little girl Vittoria, from which the name LaVì is inspired. The desire to offer her daughter something special gave birth to a Friulana for children that stands out for its peculiarity: the colored fringe.
Quality Italian Craftsmanship
LaVì is an entirely Italian product, handcrafted near Venice, the city where these shoes have their historical roots since they were used by Venetian gondoliers. Cecilia is inspired by the ancient history of simple, comfortable and practical slippers, keeping alive a precious tradition.
The LaVì Friulane are carefully created to fit every child's foot. The insole is made of 100% cotton, while the outsole, as per tradition, uses recycled bicycle tires. The hand stitching, which joins the upper to the sole, is still done today by the expert hands of our craftswomen.
History and Tradition of the Friulane
The name "friulana" dates back to the 19th century, when some ingenious and courageous women from Friuli began producing shoes with recycled fabrics and old bicycle tires. Legend has it that a family opened a small "scarpez" shop in Venice, near the Rialto Bridge, thus creating a tradition that continues today.
